5700 steps
2018 - Format: 3'000cm x 36cm | 6'000cm x 36cm
Between the sea and the city lies a space that few people pay attention to - a transition zone between the hermetically sealed docks and the open water that nobody really lives in or cares about. It is a microcosm of disregard and absence that tells stories in the silent coexistence of industry, nature and oblivion, stories that disappear in the everyday gaze. They are non-places that create a presence through their absence - the areas that belong to the city and the sea together, without being a part of either. Over the entire length of the harbour, with 228 pictures, I have devoted myself to this strip. One every twenty-five steps - a slow, precise walk through the landscape of transitions.
